    Role Overview

The Instrument & Electrical Technical Field Advisor III (I&E TFA III) is the primary field technical authority for instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems on Mitsubishi Power projects. This role establishes and enforces uncompromising standards for personnel safety, equipment protection, quality execution, and professional conduct across all I&E activities. The position leads and oversees high-risk and complex installations for gas turbines, steam turbines, large frame generators, and auxiliary equipment, including power and control cabling, grounding systems, DCS and PLC systems, protection and control panels, field instrumentation, and electrical equipment. The I&E TFA III actively mitigates risk to personnel, equipment, schedule, and cost while driving a Zero Injuries mindset, strong site culture, and first-time quality execution to eliminate rework and warranty exposure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary site-level I&E authority for Mitsubishi Power-supplied instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
    • Establish and enforce strict standards for electrical safety and equipment protection, intervening immediately when practices place Mitsubishi assets, personnel, or system integrity at risk.
    • Lead high-risk and complex I&E work planning, including energization activities, loop checks, megger testing, commissioning readiness, and schedule-critical system turnovers.
    • Drive a Zero Injuries mindset by leading Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), reinforcing electrical hazard recognition, and coaching site leadership on safe work practices.
    • Influence EPC contractors and partner leadership to meet electrical safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
    • Champion first-time quality execution by defining installation strategies, enforcing inspection and hold points, and verifying system readiness before work release.
    • Lead resolution of complex I&E technical issues, particularly those affecting Mitsubishi Power cost, system reliability, performance, or warranty exposure.
    • Own and drive high-impact Project Action Requests (PARs) related to I&E scope, coordinating Teams calls, engaging responsible parties, and escalating as necessary to ensure timely closure.
    • Support Construction Site Services Managers by identifying emerging I&E risks and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
    • Mentor and develop I&E TFA I and II personnel, strengthening technical depth, leadership presence, and consistent field behaviors.
    • Shape a strong site safety and quality culture through visible field leadership, recognition of strong performance, respectful engagement, and accountability.
    • Prioritize time in the field over office work to directly support installers, validate work quality, and prevent rework.
    • Prepare and distribute daily reports detailing construction or commissioning support activities in accordance with project requirements.
    • Maintain and update I&E punch lists and lessons learned, providing timely feedback to drive issue resolution and continuous improvement.
    • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills while collaborating across disciplines to support safe, high-quality, on-schedule project execution.
    • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, promptly reporting unsafe conditions or activities.
    • Contribute proactively to team and organizational goals through collaboration and engagement.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting mutual respect across all levels.
    • Communicate clearly with site teams and leadership to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
    • Uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
    • Advocate for and demonstrate Mitsubishi Power core values and policies among site personnel.
    • Complete all required training and certifications accurately and on time.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent power plant construction experience.
    • Eight (8) or more years of progressive I&E field experience on large EPC power generation projects.
    • Extensive experience with Mitsubishi Power or comparable OEM GTCC installations, including DCS, electrical balance of plant, and field instrumentation.
    • Ten (10) hours of OSHA training or experience recommended, but not required.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
    • Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and present information effectively to site leadership and customers.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability applied to electrical and control systems.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
    • Knowledge of databases, project management tools, spreadsheets, word processing software, electronic mail, technical diagrams, electrical schematics, control logic documentation, and flow charts.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80%.

    Why Should You Apply?

    • Excellent Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision & 401K Matching).
    • Excellent development programs and advancement opportunities.
    • Tuition reimbursement and on-the-job training.
    • Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays.
    • Committed to quality products and services.
    • Great working environment and culture.
