Description
Overview:
The Financial Advisor Associate will support the Financial Advisor in delivering investment and financial planning services to existing and prospective clients. This position will provide the Associate with a knowledge and understanding of financial markets, various product offerings and expose the Associate to the day-to-day activities of a Financial Advisor in preparation for future placement as a Financial Advisor. Typically, an Associate will transition to a Financial Advisor within 12-24 months.
Responsibilities:
Provide client service and support to an experienced Financial Advisor.
Enter trades in client accounts as instructed by the client and/or Financial Advisor.
Open new accounts and maintain existing accounts.
Prepare presentations for client meetings.
Research data for the Financial Advisor to consider client investment strategies.
Practice business development strategies in conjunction with receiving coaching and mentorship to prepare for a role as a Partner with the Financial Advisor.
Ensure a FINRA compliance branch system is maintained.
Remain informed on current financial market trends, regulatory changes and product offerings.
Qualifications:
Minimum one year of experience in investment services or wealth management
SIE, Series 7, 63 and or 65/66
Resident Life Insurance license, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Knowledge of basic Banking/Financial industry practices
Ability to apply analytical skills
Must be a self-starter with the ability to promote and sell investment products and services
Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills
Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as within a team framework
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Four-year college degree in a business-related field preferably Finance or equivalent work experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
