My AmeriCorps - Home Page The Be Kind People Project for Arizona''s Youth
The Be Kind People Project (BKPP) is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to delivering transformative youth development programs that inspire academic achievement, emotional resilience, and healthy living among students, regardless of their learning environment. Founded in 2012, BKPP reaches over 5 million students annually across diverse urban and rural communities in Arizona, primarily focusing on K-8 students in Title I schools, where 94% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our mission is to equip students with essential life skills that foster kindness, respect, and responsibility while enhancing academics. The BE KIND SCHOOL programs offer a multi-tiered support system that boosts school attendance, engagement, and climate. Our BE KIND CREW engages students through high-energy assemblies and dynamic arts enrichment opportunities, which help build confidence and encourage social interaction. Through our relationship-driven model and stigma-free messaging, BKPP tackles critical issues such as chronic absenteeism, substance misuse prevention, mental health, student well-being, and the creation of safe schools and communities. Additionally, BKPP is a vital link between schools, families, and community partners, providing culturally responsive primary prevention education, professional development for teachers with continuing education credits, and resources that promote positive school climates and family engagement.
