Job Title The History Department's Centennial Ambassador and Media Intern Department History Job Description/Duties

SUNY Cortland's History Department is turning 100 years-old this spring! The Fall 2026 intern will use their established or growing social media and graphic design skills to help the history department tell the story of their students, alumni, faculty and staff through alumni-outreach, a multi-platform social media campaign, related interpretive signage, and attendance at open-houses and centennial events.

The student should come with a basic knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, as well as knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the graphic design program Canva.

The intern may work on graphic design and social media tasks remotely but will need to attend various meetings and events throughout the semester in-person. This internship is best for those who will be in Cortland this Fall. This internship can be extended into the Spring.

Total 120 hours spread over the semester.

Required Qualifications

The student should have completed at least one year on campus in Cortland, they should have a basic knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, as well as knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the graphic design program Canva.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to use Canva or other design program.
