    The Lead Teacher - World Language & the Arts (Grades 9-12) serves as the instructional and organizational

    liaison

    for

    the

    high

    school

    World

    Language,

    Applied

    Arts,

    Business,

    Media,

    Performing

    Arts,

    and

    Visual

    Arts

    programs.

    The

    Lead

    Teacher

    supports

    curriculum

    coherence,

    program

    development,

    assessment

    alignment,

    interdisciplinary

    initiatives,

    and

    effective

    communication

    while

    remaining

    a

    classroom

    teacher.

    The Lead Teacher works collaboratively with faculty across these disciplines and with building and district administration

    to

    support

    consistent

    implementation

    of

    district

    programs,

    instructional

    priorities,

    and

    student

    learning

    goals.

    This

    position

    carries

    no

    formal

    supervisory

    or

    evaluative

    authority.

    TERMS OF ASSIGNMENT

    The

    Lead

    Teacher

    shall

    have

    no

    duty

    periods .

    This

    position

    does

    not

    include

    supervisory,

    evaluative,

    or

    administrative

    authority

    over

    staff.

    Applied

    Arts,

    Business,

    Media,

    Performing

    Arts,

    and

    Visual

    Arts

    programs.

    Attend

    administrative

    meetings

    as

    scheduled

    to

    support

    communication,

    planning,

    and

    coordination.

    Create

    agendas

    for

    and

    facilitate

    department

    and/or

    program

    meetings

    for

    staff

    within

    the

    represented

    disciplines.

    Support

    collaboration

    and

    communication

    among

    faculty

    across

    World

    Language,

    Applied

    Arts,

    Business,

    Media,

    Performing

    Arts,

    and

    Visual

    Arts.

    Disseminate

    district

    and

    building-level

    information

    to

    staff

    in

    a

    timely

    and

    consistent

    manner.

    Serve

    as

    a

    point

    of

    contact

    between

    faculty

    and

    administration

    regarding

    departmental

    and

    program

    needs,

    concerns,

    initiatives,

    events,

    and

    opportunities.

    Promote

    collaboration

    and

    consistency

    within

    and

    across

    the

    represented

    disciplines

    while

    recognizing

    the

    unique

    instructional

    and

    programmatic

    needs

    of

    each

    Facilitate

    Program

    of

    Studies

    review

    for

    courses

    within

    the

    represented

    disciplines,

    including

    course

    descriptions,

    sequencing,

    prerequisites,

    academic

    pathways,

    and

    elective

    offerings.

    Coordinate

    faculty

    input

    related

    to

    student

    placement,

    course

    sequencing,

    program

    pathways,

    and

    program

    development.

    Support

    alignment

    of

    curricula

    with

    applicable

    New

    Jersey

    Student

    Learning

    Standards

    and

    district

    instructional

    priorities.

    Support

    the

    development

    and

    coordination

    of

    common

    assessments

    and

    other

    measures

    of

    student

    learning,

    where

    applicable.

    Assist

    in

    reviewing

    and

    organizing

    departmental

    materials

    related

    to

    curriculum,

    instruction,

    and

    assessment

    initiatives.

    Identify

    opportunities

    for

    meaningful

    interdisciplinary

    connections

    among

    World

    Language,

    the

    arts,

    business,

    media,

    technology,

    and

    other

    academic

    and

    career-focused

    programs.

    Support

    the

    development,

    implementation,

    and

    review

    of

    courses,

    programs,

    pathways,

    competitions,

    performances,

    exhibitions,

    and

    enrichment

    opportunities.

    Assist

    with

    the

    review

    of

    student

    achievement,

    participation,

    enrollment,

    and

    other

    relevant

    program

    data

    to

    identify

    strengths,

    needs,

    and

    opportunities

    for

    program

    growth. Instructional Support (Non-Supervisory)

    Provide

    collegial

    support

    Media,

    teachers

    instructional

    Facilitate

    collaboration

    instructional

    strategies,

    student

    opportunities

    the

    disciplines.

    Support

    new

    teachers

    through

    mentoring

    and

    informal

    coaching,

    as

    appropriate.

    opportunities

    represented

    disciplines,

    curriculum,

    and

    emerging

    instructional

    practices.

    Encourage

    interdisciplinary

    opportunities.

    Support

    opportunities

    for

    students

    to

    connect

    classroom

    learning

    with

    college,

    career,

    community,

    and

    real-world

    experiences.

    Collaborate

    with

    faculty

    and

    administration

    to

    promote

    student

    participation

    and

    engagement

    in

    the

    represented

    programs.

    Support

    the

    coordination

    and

    communication

    of

    special

    events,

    performances,

    exhibitions,

    showcases,

    competitions,

    and

    other

    program-related

    activities,

    as

    appropriate.

    Assist

    with

    initiatives

    that

    highlight

    and

    celebrate

    student

    work

    and

    accomplishments

    across

    the

    collaboration

    building

    Digital

    Platforms.

    Assist

    with

    the

    inventory

    and

    organization

    of

    instructional

    supplies,

    textbooks,

    equipment,

    instruments,

    technology,

    software,

    performance

    materials,

    art

    materials,

    and

    other

    departmental

    resources.

    Coordinate

    departmental

    requests

    for

    instructional

    materials,

    equipment,

    technology,

    subscriptions,

    and

    replacement

    resources.

    Support

    planning

    for

    specialized

    equipment,

    technology,

    instruments,

    materials,

    and

    facilities

    necessary

    for

    the

    represented

    programs.

    Serve

    as

    the

    department

    point

    of

    contact,

    as

    appropriate,

    for

    vendors,

    competitions,

    exhibitions,

    performances,

    enrichment

    opportunities,

    and

    related

    programs.

    Assist

    administration

    in

    identifying

    short-

    and

    long-term

    instructional

    resource,

    equipment,

    technology,

    and

    program

    needs.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months, salary determined by Agreement between KEA and Kinnelon BOE. ANNUAL EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Achieve

    NJ

    State

    law

    and

    the

    provisions

    of

    the

    board's

    policy

    on

    evaluations.
