POSITION: The Village Office Student Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Center for Cultural Liberation

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of the CCL

HOURS NEEDED PER WEEK: 8- 10 hours (fall, and spring)

HOURLY RATE: $15.00 /hour

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT (APPROXIMATE): August 2026 - May 2027

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the recruitment and support of member of The Village

  • Assist The Village coordinator in designing and implementing the program curriculum

  • Plan opportunities for building community among Black students, faculty, and staff

  • Promote The Village efforts in coordination with the Marketing and Communications team

  • Plan educational events for The Village members with the Education and Special Events Coordinator

  • Implement a social media strategy to inform and engage students and campus community on The Village programs and initiatives

  • Manage DU BeInvolved and other platforms

  • Assist with development of the CCL newsletter and other communication materials

  • Attend biweekly supervision meetings and biweekly CCL team meetings

  • Serve on CCL planning committees

  • Provide 7-8 hours a week of in-person office hours

  • Perform other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned

BASIC COMPETENCIES: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities)

  • Strong coaching skills; Ability to motivate and encourage students

  • Ability to keep students' confidentiality

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal, written, and social media skills; interpersonal and follow-up skills

  • Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, highly reliable, and dependable

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Suite
