Function

The purpose of the class is to assist in the operations of stage production, the administrative office, the education office, and/or special events in a performing arts theatre in the Hampton Coliseum/Hampton Arts Department.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
• Some college coursework in liberal or fine arts preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
• One (1) year of experience in one or more of the following areas: administrative assistance, arts and culture, performing/visual arts, or customer service. Preferred

Additional Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be able to work independently with follow-through on projects and assignments.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer experience required.

The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergencies or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
