Job Duties and Responsibilities

Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Ability to communicate and work well with a diverse staff

Responsible, dependable, and punctual

Ability to multi-task

Knowledge of terminology and/or coursework in the Technical Theatre

Some evenings and weekends may also be required

Must have had experience in Theatrical set construction, costumes, or props

Must have experience in hanging and focusing Theatrical Lighting fixtures

Must have experience using stationary power tools such as table saw, band saw,

radial arm saw and drill press

Must have had experience using power hand tools such as screw guns, circular

saws and jig saws or sewing machines

Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places. Must be able to work in an

environment which contains dust from cut lumber and in which paints and solvents

might be used

It is preferred that applicant has completed or is currently be enrolled in Stagecraft, design, or costumes.

Must wear sturdy shoes with solid rubber or leather soles (Depending on shop)

No open-toe shoe or any kind of high-heeled shoe will be permitted

Long pants must be worn- no shorts, skirts, or dresses (Depending on shop)

Long sleeves must be buttoned or rolled up

Large rings or dangling necklaces can be dangerous and should not be worn

Hair longer than shoulder length must be confined when using power tools

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently,

and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically

include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping,

kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, as well as pushing, pulling and lifting.

Frequent physical effort required.
