Job Summary
The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as an Emergency Services Therapist. The primary role of this position is to provide direct diagnostic, preventive, and treatment services, including crisis intervention to youth who are at risk or have Serious Emotional Disturbance, individuals with a Developmental Disability, individuals with substance use disorders, and/or adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI). The Emergency Services clinician facilitates the civil commitment process and engages in daily clinical and procedural consultations with other MHSADS programs and public and private community partners. This position works in the 24-hour, state-mandated emergency services program.
Successful candidates excel in complex, fast-paced environments and are passionate about crisis work, supporting community crisis response with creative problem solving, adaptability to rapidly changing, often competing changes in demands for service, and a collaborative approach to community services. Work schedule includes weekends, holidays, and overnights.

This position is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree; license eligible within one (1) year of hire or possess professional licensure through the VA Department of Health Professions Board as a: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP). Two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, which may include internship experience.
Preferred:
Certification as a Preadmission Screening Clinician (CPASC).
Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, credit check, driving record check, and TB test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
