The Therapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. This role provides individual, group, and family counseling services, develops individualized treatment plans, utilizes evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support client success. The Therapist also responds to crisis situations, provides clinical consultation when needed, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide individual, group, family, and specialty counseling services, including trauma-informed and co-occurring disorder treatment interventions

· Assess client needs through intake screenings and comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans and establish appropriate diagnoses

· Facilitate therapeutic interventions that help clients build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and achieve treatment goals

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams by participating in clinical staffing meetings and providing clinical feedback and recommendations

· Deliver crisis intervention services and coordinate emergency responses when immediate support is needed

· Provide clinical consultation and guidance to treatment team members regarding evidence-based practices and clinical concerns

· Assist clients through transitions of care by completing summaries, plans, and other necessary discharge documentation

· Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards

· Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely authorization and delivery of services

· Represent the organization professionally within the community and maintain positive relationships with clients, referral sources, and colleagues

· Assist with professional and clinical supervision of individuals in training when qualified to do so

· Support departmental goals and organizational objectives while performing other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field

· Current professional licensure through the applicable state board of registration

· Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

· Training and demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health and/or substance use disorders

· Knowledge of rehabilitation methods, treatment modalities, clinical best practices, and applicable legal requirements related to behavioral health services

· Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate clinical services and treatment interventions

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships in person, by telephone, and through telehealth services

· Ability to follow direction, accept supervision, and work collaboratively within a team environment

Additional Qualifications:

· Successful completion of background screenings, including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks

· Current valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance

· Must be willing to become licensed in additional states as needed

· Must be willing and comfortable providing telehealth services; training will be provided

· Must attain First Aid certification within three (3) months of employment and maintain certification thereafter

· Must attain CPR certification within three (3) months of employment and maintain certification thereafter

· Must attain required Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment or the first available class following hire

· Must attain required training hours in accordance with applicable program, regulatory, and accreditation standards

· Knowledge of assigned program policies, procedures, and regulations

· Ability to provide copies of applicable certifications and professional licenses

· For school-based service programs, ability to provide services at school sites during operating hours

Physical Requirements

· Perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects

· Use hands, fingers, and arms repetitively for typing, writing, and documentation throughout the workday

· Sit for extended periods while performing clinical and administrative responsibilities

· Occasionally walk or stand for brief periods as required to perform job duties

· Maintain the physical ability to complete all essential job functions in a professional behavioral health setting
