The role requires travel to school site and community events more than 70% of the time. The role identifies children ages 11-18 in the public school systems that may need mental health support, as well as, medical. A dietician is part of this team and addresses nutrition and eating disorders that can be supported through the program. Having current relationships with the school system and key players is a plus!
The main office for this role is located on Orange Avenue close to Michigan in Orlando, Florida. Your home base and office will be there and all staffings and supervision take place at this location. This job is mobile. You will use you vehicle to get locations assigned for the day.
A Brief Overview
Works with patients to promote optimum mental and emotional health. This team collaborates with the mobile crisis unit and goes out to the community. Travel is 40% of this job
What you will do
Develops comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and clinical impressions responsive to age-appropriate patients/family needs and concerns.
Differential diagnosis of mental/emotional disorders using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Diagnoses biopsychosocial functioning, disability, and impairment for the age-appropriate patient/family.
Develops treatment intervention plans with clinical impressions. These plans are diagnostically driven, and outcomes focused with the patient/family and healthcare team.
Develops an effective working relationship with patient/family to engage, collaborate, advocate and problem solve in order to support and enhance their mental health strengths and functioning ability.
Utilizes differential diagnostic skills and employs various clinical treatment interventions included, but are not limited to crisis intervention, solution focused therapy, individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, grief and bereavement counseling, play therapy, sand tray therapy, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mental status exams.
Initiates Baker Act.
Facilitates Marchman Act when appropriate.
Facilitates patient’s psychosocial adjustment along the continuum of care and transition to next level of care.
Provides mental health education, information, consultation, and professional support regarding patient/family needs to the healthcare team members and colleagues within the department.
Demonstrates initiative and leadership in developing mental health services which respond to patient care demands.
Identifies practice based on continuous quality improvement.
Maintains an up-to-date, accurate and appropriate record of mental health activities in patients’ medical chart, which does not violate confidentiality.
Meets department/hospital expectations of growth goals set forth by coaching plans.
Ability to perform independently and provides clinical practice in a health care setting.
Ability to supervise and participates in teaching within the department, hospital, and community.
Care coordination responsibilities and related functions as appropriate for your patient population.
When appropriate for the clinical setting, must have subspecialty credentialing i.e., sexual abuse, EMDR, CAP, CBT.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Maintains and enhances knowledge of human growth and development of the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations through educational opportunities and meets expectations set forth by hospital and departmental standards.
Pursues opportunities for obtaining continuing education as set by department policy.
Involved in strengthening the community through participation in local, regional, state, or national activities.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Two (2) years of direct clinical experience preferable in a health or mental health setting with an emphasis on population to be served in the assigned area.
Maintains Florida state (Chapter 491 Florida Statutes) licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; or,
Maintains Florida state (Chapter 491 Florida Statutes) licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor; or,
Maintains Florida state (Chapter 491) Florida Statutes) licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
