    Position Summary

    The Clinical Therapist will provide effective therapy to children, adolescents, families, and/or individual adults in office, home, community, and school settings. The therapist will work closely with the Program Supervisor and the Psychiatry Department. The therapist also assists with general quality assurance responsibilities for program treatment services.

    Responsibilities

    Clinical and Support

    • Provides individual and family therapy in a culturally sensitive manner with adherence to the professional Code of Ethics, as recommended by the treatment team.
    • Number of sessions depends on need and program procedures; intervention or treatment styles practiced are empirically supported in treatment research literature, and/or the therapist has had thorough training and supervision of those techniques/interventions.
    • Facilitates or assist in facilitating groups as per program needs.

    Quality Improvement

    • Works with supervisors and directors in meeting quality assurance standards for all components of treatment for the program.
    • Assures the implementation of best practice standards as developed by the service lines.

    Communication

    • Completes written work that is legible, accurate, and uses professional language, meets timelines for submitting paperwork established by the program and organization, and uses written documentation to communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and collateral contacts.

    Supervision

    • Receive supervision.
    • Receives supervision from and actively communicate with supervisors on an ongoing basis throughout the week by phone, email, written message, and when possible, in person, regarding program matters.

    Leadership

    • Promotes interagency collaboration.

    Community Engagement

    • With the approval of, or at the request of, the Program Supervisor/Program Director, provides in-service/training to other programs on site and/or provide information regarding Pressley Ridge and its services to community organizations for marketing and fundraising.
    • With the approval of the Program Supervisor/Program Director, provides presentations at local, state or national conferences and workshops. Provides the supervisor with the workshop or training outline for review.

    Risk Management and Safety

    • Provides documentation that complies with program procedures, State, licensing, and Medicaid regulations, including, but not limited to, treatment plans, case notes, assessments, and summaries. Sign off on various documents in accordance with program procedures and licensing regulations.
    • Ensures clinical/financial paperwork is timely and accurate to secure treatment services for the client.

    Professional Development

    • Participates in regularly scheduled in-service training as requested.
    • With Program Supervisor approval, attend relevant local, state, or national workshops and training.
    • If applicable, obtains CEUs and/or Clinical Supervision from the clinical supervisor as per requirements of licensing board, agency policy, or state regulations to maintain license in good standing or to pursue licensure.

    Qualifications

    • Education/Credentials/Licensure:

    • Master's degree in Human Services, or a related field, and one (1) year of experience working with children, adults, and families.

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience working with children, adults, and families.

    • Licensure preferred or working toward licensure by professional affiliation (in the state of program location).

    • Requires a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

    • Experience:

    • Requires expertise in the developmental and emotional needs of children, adults, and families.

    • Requires knowledge of community resources and referral procedures.

    • Clearances: State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances; CPSL Mandated Reporter - Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation.

    Working Conditions

    • Physical Demands: Requires vision, speech, and hearing.
    • Environmental Factors: Office environment, the community, and client homes. Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to domestic environments.
    • Working Hours: Requires working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
