As a Therapist, you'll provide essential therapeutic support to individuals navigating mental health and/or substance use challenges. Through personalized care, you'll play a key role in helping people achieve stability, healing, and personal growth.

As a Therapist with the Urgent Care Mental Health team in Cumberland County, you will provide mental health support and counseling to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Our program offers an alternative for those who are experiencing mental health crisis symptoms and are not in need of psychiatric hospitalization. Your role, as therapist, will be essential to our success, and your efforts will influence our ability to provide treatment to our community. You will work with a team of professionals, including peers, case managers, and prescribers.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p with one evening a week of 11:30a-8p; rotating Fridays of 11:30a-8p and Saturdays of 9a-5p

Salary: $54,000 USD to $57,000 USD/year

Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have the abilities to conduct short term psychotherapy and psycho-educational support groups; Can work in a crisis setting; Participate as part of a treatment team; and have knowledge of serious mental illnesses and substance abuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psycho-social assessments
  • Develop short term treatment plans and coordinate discharge plans
  • Share on-call responsibilities
  • Conduct suicide risk assessments
  • Conduct daily initial intake assessments
  • Manage individual weekly therapy sessions
  • Run groups once per week

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MA, MS, MSW) in social work or psychology, LSW/LAC required;
  • Two (2) years' experience in a behavioral healthcare, preferable in a crisis setting;
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
