Responsibilities:

Looking for a Full Time Therapy Aide/Tech that would like to be part of our Outpatient Day Neuro rehabilitation team. The Day Neuro program serves the adult brain injury and spinal cord injury population with a focus on return to work, school, and community activities. Therapy Aide will also cross-train and work in our Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility on the same campus. Our hospital is located in Lakeway, Texas in the scenic hill country, a suburb of Austin.

 

This role plays an important part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting therapists with treatment preparation, maintaining a safe therapy environment, and supporting daily operations. Duties include but are not limited to: transferring patients, helping patients to and from different locations for programming, light clerical tasks, other duties/projects as assigned, and infection control cleaning and maintenance of therapy equipment. Positive attitude, self-starting initiative, flexibility, and good communication skills a must.

The Therapy Aide/Therapy Techprovides care under the direction of a therapist, this position exists to assist patients in the rehabilitation process through provision of requested activities.  Prepares and maintains equipment and physical environment for daily activities.

 

Employees in this position will:

 

Perform patient related tasks assigned by therapist, including but not limited to:

  • Assist therapists with patient preparation and treatment setup
  • Safely transports patients to and from therapy sessions and groups
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy gym and equipment
  • Clean and sanitize equipment according to infection control standards
  • Monitor therapy areas for safety and report concerns promptly
  • Assist with clerical tasks, supply management, and documentation support as needed
  • Maintain inventory of therapy equipment and supplies
  • Support scheduling coordination and daily workflow needs
  • Distributes equipment to new patients according to patient specifications
  • Ensures maintenance of cleaning logs and temperature logs
  • Participates in facility specific Core Program meetings and demonstrates understanding of patient satisfaction outcome data
  • Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
  1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
  2. One or more years of healthcare experience as a rehab aide preferred.
  3. Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
