    Thermal Engineer - Seattle,WA/ San Jose,CA -June26

    We are seeking a Thermal Engineer to join our client's team in Seattle,WA/ San Jose,CA Area to work on spacecraft technology.

    Responsibilities

    • Thermal System Design: Design spacecraft thermal management systems, including active and passive cooling solutions for high-power components.
    • Thermal Analysis & Modeling: Perform thermal simulations using tools such as ANSYS Thermal Desktop to evaluate spacecraft performance in space environments.
    • Thermal Optimization: Optimize thermal designs by balancing size, weight, power, and system performance.
    • Thermal Testing & Validation: Plan and support thermal cycling, thermal-vacuum (TVAC), and environmental testing to verify flight readiness.
    • System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and test engineers to integrate thermal management solutions into spacecraft systems.
    • Material Selection: Select space-qualified thermal materials, coatings, insulation, and heat transfer solutions.
    • Reliability Engineering: Conduct thermal failure mode analysis (FMEA) and implement robust, redundant thermal control strategies.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with optics, avionics, propulsion, and systems engineering teams to resolve thermal design challenges.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

    • 5+ years of experience designing thermal systems for spacecraft, launch vehicles and/or high-power and heat-flux applications.

    • Hands-on experience with spacecraft thermal integration and flight testing.

    • Experience with OpenTD and python scripting is a plus.

    • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex thermal design challenges.
