    JOB OVERVIEW

    The Thermal Spray Operator performs a full range of thermal spray coating operations in accordance with approved process planning and customer specifications. This role is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met in a manufacturing or aerospace repair environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Apply thermal spray coatings including HVOF and Arc Spray in accordance with process planning and customer specifications
    • Set up, operate, and adjust thermal spray equipment, booths, tooling, and materials with minimal supervision
    • Verify that materials, fixtures, and equipment comply with approved process planning and calibration requirements
    • Prepare, coat, and route test coupons in accordance with planning requirements and ensure traceability
    • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and on time
    • Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications prior to sign-off and transfer to subsequent operations or shipment
    • Perform basic preventive maintenance on spray and material feed equipment and identify equipment issues
    • Maintain compliance with company safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards
    • Communicate production, quality, or safety concerns to supervisors or management
    • Assist with cross-functional shop support tasks such as masking, grit blasting, cleanup, inspection, shipping and receiving, and part marking as assigned
    • Provide on-the-job training or support to less experienced operators as needed

    Qualifications:

    • 2 to 4 years of thermal spray experience in a manufacturing or industrial repair environment; aerospace experience preferred
    • Ability to read and understand process planning, technical drawings, work instructions, and verbal directions
    • Ability to perform accurate measurements using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related equipment
    • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position is performed in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and other industrial conditions may occur. Personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, is required as applicable.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and parts
    • Ability to see, hear, read, and communicate effectively
    • Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds
