Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineering Project Manager to oversee the development and delivery of thermal hardware for advanced satellite systems. This role is responsible for managing research and development efforts for new thermal subsystems, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with performance requirements. The ideal candidate is innovative, adaptable, and capable of leading cross-functional teams while working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end development and delivery of thermal hardware across multiple spacecraft configurations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define performance and testing requirements for internally and externally developed components
  • Develop and execute project plans, including prioritization, scheduling, and delivery milestones
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership, including status on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Lead recurring meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors
  • Oversee component qualification and validation testing processes
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks and issues; implement mitigation strategies or escalate when necessary
  • Ensure timely completion of project documentation, including engineering drawings, procedures, and reports, and coordinate required reviews and approvals
  • Support broader mechanical or thermal engineering initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience working on space, aerospace, or similar advanced engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading hardware development from concept through qualification and delivery
  • Familiarity with spacecraft thermal hardware components and systems
  • Experience working in fast-paced or high-growth technical environments

Technology Stack:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Engineering and project management tools (e.g., scheduling, tracking, and documentation systems)
  • Exposure to thermal analysis or modeling tools is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to support testing or review activities in lab or technical settings as needed
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
