Thoracic Pathologist

The Department of Pathology at a leading academic medical center and medical school is seeking a candidate for an Assistant, Associate, or Professor position in the academic clinical track with expertise in Thoracic Pathology.

Key Highlights

  • Join a robust group of 131 pathologists system-wide, including 3 specialists in thoracic pathology.
  • In addition to teaching and clinical sign-out responsibilities, the candidate will have ample opportunities for translational research utilizing advanced molecular genomics and digital pathology resources.
  • The department will provide startup resources and protected time to support a successful academic career.
  • Experience in head and neck pathology would be beneficial but is not required.
  • Work alongside a team of pulmonary pathologists with expertise in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic lung diseases, including transplant pathology.
  • The service evaluates more than 5,000 thoracic cases annually and serves as a local, regional, and national consultation resource, including telepathology services.
  • Opportunities are available to participate in fellowship education and trainee mentorship.

Qualifications

  • M.D. degree required.
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology with specialty training and academic interest in thoracic pathology.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly activity and publications, with a commitment to continued academic achievement.
