Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Thoracic Surgeon, you will operate on organs within the chest, specializing in surgical diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the lungs, esophagus, trachea, and chest wall, including complex cancers and benign diseases.

Every day you will perform both traditional and advanced minimally invasive (VATS, RATS) surgical procedures, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive treatment plans. You will focus on optimal surgical outcomes, supported by extensive resources to enhance your practice.

To be successful, you will be a board-certified Thoracic Surgeon with expertise in a wide range of procedures. You will possess exceptional surgical skill, diagnostic proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, committed to patient safety and ethical surgical practice.

  • Perform surgery on lungs, esophagus, trachea, and chest wall for cancerous and benign conditions (e.g., lung cancer, esophageal diseases, chest wall tumors).
  • Utilize traditional open surgery (thoracotomy) and advanced minimally invasive techniques (VATS, RATS).
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, and oncologists within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics and practice.
  • Leverage Physician Group resources to optimize operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctorate MD or DO required
  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration;
  • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital;
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution
  • DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state required
