Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant – Boston, MA

What You’ll Do
  • Manage post-operative care for thoracic surgery patients, including chest tube and drain management
  • Perform procedures such as ABG analysis, NGT, G & J feeding tube placement as needed
  • Monitor and treat adult and geriatric patients in ICU, step-down units, and post-op floors
  • Collaborate with a fellow provider and interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Respond as a first responder during code situations when needed
  • Review incoming transfers, conduct histories, and physical exams for newly admitted patients
  • Document patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR

What You Need
  • NCCPA Board Certification
  • Active Massachusetts Physician Assistant License (or willing to apply)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • DEA license needed
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in thoracic surgery or ICU/Post-Op care
  • Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and communication skills

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, primarily managing adult and geriatric post-op patients coming from the OR or ICU. The team includes a night fellow who can assist when needed, and you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality care during your night shifts from late evening to early morning hours.
