Threat Fabrication Specialist IJob Code: 2026:0402-091Location: Yuma Proving Ground, AZFT/PT Status: Full TimeBusiness Sector: Test Range OperationsJob DescriptionPerforms certified quality welds with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Assists senior welders with designs and fabrication of 2- and 3- dimensional target systems. Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs and transfers drawings to Computer Controlled Cutting (CC) machines. Fabricates unique targets and replacement parts from shop drawings, blueprints, plans, sketches, and verbal instructions and performs layout, setup, cutting, fabrication, and welding. Performs cuts using horizontal band saws, chop saws, track torches, plasma, and free hand cutting. Emplaces unique fabricated 2- and 3- dimensional steel silhouette vehicle target into predetermined target locations on multiple ranges. Fabricates mock target structures representing single and multiple story buildings using shipping containers (conex boxes). Repairs target systems that require welding or metalwork. Displays a willingness to learn and expand knowledge in welding and target fabrications. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission.
