Role Description The Threes Assistant Teacher is a part-time, on-site position located in Williamsburg, VA, supporting the lead teacher in a classroom of three-year-old children. Candidate must be available Monday-Friday 9am-1pm.

Daily responsibilities include assisting with lesson implementation, supervising children during classroom activities, playtime, and transitions, and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. The role involves preparing materials, supporting age-appropriate educational activities, promoting positive social and emotional development, and encouraging early literacy and basic math skills. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with the teaching team, communicate with families as needed, and uphold the mission and values of Williamsburg United Methodist Church in all interactions with children, staff, and caregivers.

• Ability to support classroom instruction and child development through strong Assistant Teaching and Education skills.

• Effective Communication skills to interact professionally with children, families, and staff.

• Demonstrated experience Working With Children, particularly in early childhood or preschool settings.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

• Patience, reliability, and the ability to maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for young children.

• Ability to follow classroom routines, support behavior guidance strategies, and work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.

• Completion of background checks and any required state childcare clearances prior to employment.
