Thunder Mountain Gravity Team Coach 17.00-25.00 per hour pay based on
experience Hourly Seasonal Provide mountain bike coaching and guiding to
kids ages 10-16. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Orientate
athletes on the bike trail system and bike park guidelines. Teach
intermediate through expert skills. Coach athletes to find speed through
proper technique and line choice. Enforce risk management protocols and
teach athletes about the Bikers Responsibility Code. Be a positive
ambassador for the Bike Park on and off the clock. Attend professional
development training. Educate riders on the proper use of personal
protection gear. Recognize equipment flaws or inadequacies and recommend
solutions. Lead athletes to progress their skills while still remaining
in control. Report trail damage or features that need maintenance to the
appropriate manager. Assist staff with large bike events; (races,
clinics, group outings etc.). Administer basic first aid to athletes and
guests when necessary. Clean and maintain the seasonal programs meeting
area. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Skilled in
providing outstanding customer service. Preferred to have completion of
BICP, GSMBC or PMBIA instructor course, Level 1, 2 or 3. Understand
calculated risk and how it varies from person to person. Prior riding
experience on technical mountain bike terrain is required. Gravity
mountain bike racing experience is preferred. Experience leading,
guiding or instructing in other aspects of work and life. A willingness
to progress one\'s own riding and teaching. Adhere to company procedures
for maintaining a safe worksite. Create a safe, fun and educational
atmosphere. Basic bike maintenance skills such as safety checks,
changing a flat and tightening a headset are required. Higher levels of
mechanical experience are preferred. An understanding of suspension
setup, tire pressures and other bike related performance preferences are
preferred. Core Competencies: Decision Making: Use sound judgment to

Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding position. Must be
physically fit and able to lift up to 60 lbs. Must be able to stand,
bend, climb, lift, reach, push and pull repetitively. Must be mentally
attentive and focused at all times. Must be able to adapt to climate and
work in extreme weather conditions. Shift Requirements: Work Thursday\'s
from late June to late August. Shifts typically start at 9:00am and end
around 4:00pm Provide coaching and support for the Thunder Race Weekend,
July 20th and 21st. Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least age
17. 17 year-olds must provide a MA work permit when hired. Other
Requirements: Cori background check required prior to being hired. You
must supply your own equipment; bike, helmet, goggles, pads, shoes and
repair tools. Coaches must own a full face helmet
