Job Summary

This position is located at ITT Office/Leisure, Miramar . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Ticket Audit Leader.

Major Duties

CURRENT MCCS MIRAMAR EMPLOYEE APPLICANTS ONLY

Performs a variety of accounting clerical duties pertaining to the preparation and maintenance of journals, subsidiary ledgers, schedules reflecting various accounting transactions.

  • Reviews documents for validity, budget and expenditure limitation, completeness and correctness of accounting data.
  • Reconciles monthly, undelivered orders with general ledger accounts.
  • Maintains required records and ledgers, prepares month-end accounting documents and financial reports, etc.
  • Verifies daily sales summaries and daily cash reports.
  • Every day incumbent will compare all ticket entries for each ticket seller with collected moneys to ensure accurate inventory accounting and sales reporting.
  • Will foster a close and professional working relationship with each ticket seller to promote efficient and accurate ticket record keeping. If any ticket report account is found to be out of balance, each item on that ticket report must be compared with the seller¿s cash register report to locate the error. Additionally, any item entered on the cash register by ¿MISC¿ key must be individually calculated to determine the type of tickets sold so that the ticket inventory can be posted correctly.
  • Assigns account numbers to sales.
  • Posts payments to individual subsidiary ledgers of approximately $625,000 per month.
  • Tickets represent prepaid or consignment general ledger accounts. Subsidiary ledgers must be reconciled with the MCCS Fund financial statements monthly. Incumbent must document general ledger journal voucher entries at month¿s end and other adjusting entries as deemed necessary to ensure the accuracy of financial statements. Utilizing master inventory records, validates inventory usage and then generates documents to either pay for used tickets or return unused tickets on a monthly basis, or at the conclusion of specific events.
  • Orders, accepts, and verifies, counts and issues tickets, vouchers and materials for social and sporting events and tours.
  • Generates purchase requests for tickets and materials based on the ticket inventory records and special offers from Navy Region Southwest, San Diego and various other vendors. With Manager, takes responsibility for ordering, receiving, counting, safeguarding and storing all tickets, vouchers and materials.
  • Conducts an inventory of all on hand tickets monthly; totals are approximately $350,000.
  • Contacts Navy Region Southwest, San Diego, taking advantage of all discounts and special event ticketing. Keeps abreast of all currently available information regarding ticket trends.
  • This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
  • This position will be responsible for supervising employees. Incumbent will plan, monitor, and appraise job performance, approve/disapprove leave requests, verify daily attendance and time cards, and may assist with preparation of work schedules. Ensures that security, safety, and policies are followed. Provides on-the-job training, instruction and guidance to employees.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three years¿ experience that demonstrates knowledge of ticket inventory principles and practices. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply this knowledge toward the principles, policies and operating details of ticket inventory and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of procedures necessary to verify and determine problem areas or irregularities and recommend solutions.
  • Specific knowledge of ticket inventory procedures and general office operation.
  • Skill and experience in leading employees in the accomplishment of their work.
