Description

The IT Support Specialist provides comprehensive technical support across a Microsoft-centric environment, including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, desktop computing, A/V systems, and networking. This role is the first line of support for end-users, handling requests via phone, email, and messaging platforms. Support is delivered remotely and onsite across all company locations. Essential FunctionsRespond to and prioritize incoming support requests via phone, email, messaging, and walk-up using good customer service skills.Guide users through diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures to determine the source of the issue.Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow up with users. Escalate complex issues to the IT Director or external vendors as needed.Maintain accurate documentation and ticket logs using centralized IT Service Management Tools like Fresh Service.Analyze recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements.Install and configure hardware (PCs, printers, networking gear, surveillance systems) and perform minor cabling.Perform hardware maintenance and upgrades, including component replacements.Follow IT security best practices for account provisioning, MFA, and access control.Execute onboarding/offboarding processes including account setup in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), device provisioning, and data archiving.Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation in SharePoint or other asset management tools.Organize, document, and maintain IT hardware and software assets.Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, peers, and vendors.Maintain regular attendance and timeliness.Non-Essential FunctionsAssist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives.Contribute positively to company culture and team collaboration.Travel Requirements· Travel to company sites across North Dakota, Minnesota, and Idaho as needed.· Occasional overnight stays (1–2 nights) required.· Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance required. Education and Experience Requirements· Associate degree in IT or related field preferred; high school diploma required.· CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications or equivalent experience.· 2+ years of technical support experience preferred.· Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 environments is a strong plus. Physical Requirements· Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.· Climb ladders, crawl under desks, and work in varied physical positions. Key Skills· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive).· Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.· Strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities.· Excellent communication and customer service skills.· Self-motivated, ethical, and dependable.
