Position Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced Aluminum TIG Welders for shop work in Chesapeake, VA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with steady hours, overtime potential, and long-term growth opportunities. Candidates must have experience TIG welding thin aluminum sheet metal.
Job Duties:
- Perform TIG welding on thin aluminum sheet metal components
- Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and specifications
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Produce high-quality welds with minimal distortion or burn-through
- Use basic hand tools and measuring devices
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with fabrication and fitting as needed
Requirements:
- Must have experience TIG welding thin aluminum
- Experience with sheet metal welding preferred
- Must be able to pass an aluminum TIG weld test
- Must have basic hand tools and welding helmet
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be dependable and able to work overtime as needed
Pay Rate:
- $20.00 - $30.00/hour
(Based on experience and weld test results)
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM OR 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturdays: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
