Routine data entry into specimen inventory system for the collection, receipt, disbursement, and storage of each sample. Pulls samples to fill requests based on PBC customer project. Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, adept to multi-tasking, and organizational skills are necessary to be successful in this position. Rotation at other PBC labs is required.

The Pitt Biospecimen Core (PBC) is an institutional resource for collection, processing, and disbursement of biospecimens dedicated to serving the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Faculty in meeting their research needs. PBC Labs are located at Presbyterian, Magee-Womens, Shadyside and Children's. Reviewing the Operating Room schedule to identify cases eligible for researcher projects. Working closely with the Department of Pathology, the incumbent will collect, process, disburse, and store human biological materials based on established protocols. Processing may include but is not limited to aliquoting blood products, gross dissection of tissue, and PBMC isolation.
