TITLE: Title I Part D Teacher - Lake County Juvenile Justice Center
FILING DEADLINE: July 25, 2026
REPORTS TO: Title I Part D Coordinator and Director of Federal Programs
JOB GOAL: To provide meaningful supplemental remediation students in grades 5-12 in the area of Reading and/or Math
TIME FRAME: 5-10 hours per week
Days: Monday- Saturday, based on tutor availability
Hours: Flexible, will be between 3:30-5:30 M-F, Between 7:30-10:30 on Saturday
August 23, 2026 - September 2027
COMPENSATION: $38.61/hour
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses appropriate assessment tools to determine the instructional level of new students and identify students in need of instructional support.
- Collaborates with other teachers to coordinate instruction.
- Develops lesson plans and selects supplemental materials appropriate for individual and small group instruction. Presents written evidence of such plans upon the request of Title I Part D Coordinator.
- Develops instructional objectives for each lesson concerning what students need and should learn and relate them to the course and state standards.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to each students' emotional and behavioral development; one in which the students can develop a sense of worth and dignity.
- Maintains records and reports on individual students as necessary to the successful execution of the job.
- Requisition all prescribed instructional materials and supplies necessary to complete the academic year.
- Participates in professional staff development.
- Collects and completes required local, state, and federal forms and materials in a timely fashion.
- Candidate must have a successful interview with Title I Part D Coordinator.
- All other duties assigned by the Title I Part D Coordinator or the Director of Federal Programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate State of Indiana license
- Background of successful teaching experience
- Proven reliability, good organization skills, and ability to work well with students, parents & staff
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate & acceptable
Terms of employment: August 2026 - September 2027 School Year - Renewal of position is dependent on Title I funding
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Title I Part D Coordinator & Director of Federal Programs
