The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 0.40 FTE Title I Academic Teacher at Hintgen Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Projected start date: August 11, 2026
This position would be for Thursdays and Fridays for academic support and interventions to meet student needs.
Wisconsin certification 1316 (Reading Teacher) is required.
Preference for a candidate with both a reading license and an additional math certification. Teacher candidate must have a strong knowledge and understanding around universal best practices, and tiered intervention of supports. Preference will be given to candidate with experience with high levels of collaboration with teacher teams and a co-teach to co-learn to co-serve students in a C3 co-planning environment. Candidate should have a strong knowledge and understanding with use of data, progress monitoring tools and interventions. Looking for a highly skilled and collaborative member to join our team to serve all students and support all staff at Hintgen to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Ability to collaborate with professionals at all levels, K-12, special education, and ELL.
Ability to work with sensitivity in a multicultural setting.
Excellence in using developmentally appropriate practices.
Conversant with current strategies for emergent readers and thematic curriculum.
Knowledge of current educational literature and approaches to teaching/learning.
Adaptable to changing educational settings.
Ability to develop successful parent involvement activities.
