Applications are now being accepted for a part-time TITLE I ASSISTANT position. The minimum rate is $20.01 per hour, and employee benefits are not included with this position. Title 1 Assistants work approximately 15 hours per week.

The primary function of the Reading Intervention position is to assist the Reading Specialist and professional staff with the delivery of the reading program and support services to students.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree or completion of at least two years of college required; Pennsylvania teaching certification and experience working with school-age children preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications preferred.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with students and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the supervision of the Reading Specialist, Principal, and/or Supervisor of Teaching and Learning, assist in planning and delivering reading intervention lessons and administering assessments.
  • Provide reading intervention to individual students and small groups under the guidance of the Reading Specialist.
  • Support students in developing foundational reading skills, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
  • Assist with Title I documentation, recordkeeping, and other clerical responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings and professional learning as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties related to the Title I Reading Assistant position as assigned.
