General Role and Responsibilities:
Along with other members of the FACE Team, this employee will work with school personnel to cultivate positive relationships with families, schools, and community members.
Specific Responsibilities in this Position:
- Facilitate ongoing family and community engagement classes, workshops, forums, and events
- Assist with districtwide events, including PreK/Kindergarten Registration and the District Back-to-School Event
- Support school-based events such as Parent-Teacher Conferences, Side-by-Side events, and Family Nights by coordinating with principals, distributing and collecting sign-in sheets, gathering activity descriptions, and tabulating attendance (as scheduled throughout the year)
- Collect, organize, and maintain accurate documentation for individual school family engagement Title One binders
- Attend and support individual school family engagement events as needed
- Assist with and support the Parent Advisory Council
- Distribute, collect, and tabulate family surveys
- Participate in updating and revising the Family Engagement Policy in collaboration with the Advisory Committee
- Provide support for Birth-to-5 and PACT PreK initiatives as needed
- Build partnerships by contacting community businesses for donations and opportunities for volunteering or mentoring
- Collaborate with PTA and other parent and community organizations
- Assist in promoting district family engagement activities and events
- Assist McKinney-Vento Liaison as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor
- Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Assoc degree, 60 college credits or more, pass the Indiana Parapro test
- Effective communication skills
