Title I Small Group Instructor position available at Woodridge Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is a part-time position 5.8 hrs..No Benefits Salary per the WEA Negotiated AgreementCurrentvalid teaching license required Reading Endorsement 059902 PreferredMiddle CH Certification 4-9 Language ArtsReading Elementary 1-8Description Plan develop schedule and implement the remedial reading and sometimes remedial math educational program for students identified with such needs evaluate and revise the programs as appropriate actively involved in student colleague and parent communications and relationsNOTE The below lists are not ranked in order of importanceEssential Functions• Promote safety of students• Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices• Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment• Maintain accurate records as required• Take necessary precautions to protect equipment materials and facilities• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear complete and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media• Maintain respect at all times for confidential information e.g. student grades• Attend meetings and in-services per contract• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and staff• Instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated• Refer students with suspected disabilities according to buildingdistrict protocol• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the courses of study which have been approved by the Board of Education• Assist in identifying students who qualify for services• Provide appropriate intervention for qualifying students• Communicate and work closely with the regular classroom teachers while developing each students intervention program• Work with students individually in small groups andor in co-taught classrooms• Assist students with their tasks read to students conduct activities that work to maintain previous teaching• Assist students with programmed materials• Promote good social relationships between students• Assist in the administration of standardized assessments for example DIBELSOther Duties and Responsibilities• Participate in intervention assistance team meetings• Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely appropriate manner• Interact with other departments and school personnel when necessary• Refer attendance health academic and psychological emotional concerns or problems to Principal andor Guidance Counselor• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee as appropriate to the job titleQualifications• Bachelors degree in education from an accredited college or university• Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certificationslicense• Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent andor Board of Education may find appropriateRequired Knowledge Skills and Abilities• Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology• Ability to work effectively with others• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing• Effective active listening skills• Organizational and problem solving skills• General computer skillsAdditional Working Conditions• Occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue• Occasional interaction with unruly students
