Purpose To supplement reading and/or math instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-8.
Qualifications
Ability to relate to children with special needs Ability to provide instructional activities in collaboration with teacher Some college training preferable.
Minimum education requirements are:
• 48 semester hours which include core courses with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution • Associate Degree or higher with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution • WorkKeys testing in Math - min score 4 • Reading - min score 4 • Writing - min score 3
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide supplemental instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-8 to provide reinforcement of reading and/or math skills. • Collaborate with classroom teacher to prepare lessons, materials, and activities that supplement classroom reading and/or math instruction for academically at-risk students. • Adhere to the federal guidelines regarding non-instructional assignments and duties. • Attend Title I staff meetings and professional development.
