Title Settlement Investigator (Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $60,278 - $75,000
The State Corporation Commission (SCC) Bureau of Insurance (BOI) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Investigator to perform specialized investigative and auditing work in its Real Estate Settlement Agent Investigation (RESA) section. Investigators in this section of BOI determine the validity of complaints against title settlement agencies and insurance agents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth field investigations and audits across the state of Virginia (about 50% with occasional travel outside the state)
Collect, evaluate, and analyze financial data and real estate documentation during field investigations and audits
Perform in-depth file reviews
Communicate extensively with insurance agents, agency personnel, and/or consumers relating to audits and investigations
Conduct interviews with complainants and interrogations with agents and agency personnel
Prepare detailed investigative reports and analysis
Prepare evidentiary documents and internal/external correspondence
Present cases to counsel and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as required
Perform related work as required
