Tool and cutter grinder

A premier, high-precision manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Tool and Cutter Grinder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing, sharpening, modifying, and reconditioning specialized cutting tools (such as end mills, drills, reamers, and custom form tools) required for advanced CNC machining operations. This is a critical technical position that directly impacts our facility's productivity, surface finish quality, and capability to hold exceptionally tight tolerances. Compensation: $32.00 - $38.00 / Hour (Dependingon Experience) Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 4x10s (5:00 AM Start Time) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Location: Ontario, CA

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate manual and/or CNC tool and cutter grinders, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinding equipment to precise specifications.
• Tool Reconditioning & Modification: Sharpen, recondition, and alter standard carbide and high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools to create custom geometries needed for complex machining profiles.
• Tooling Drawing Review: Review finished tooling drawings in support of screw machine production.
• Conventional Equipment Operation: Use traditional grinding equipment such as a surface grinder, K.O. Lee, or Cincinnati Grinder.
• Small Lot Production: Produce small lots of cutting tools such as combination drills and reamers.
• Wheel Selection & Dressing: Select appropriate grinding wheels (e.g., diamond, CBN) tailored to tool materials and profile requirements. Dress and balance wheels to guarantee peak performance.
• Documentation & Maintenance: Document tool setups for repetitive runs, track tooling lifecycles, and perform routine preventative maintenance on grinding equipment.
