Tool & Die Maker (Day Shift)
Pay: Up to $36/hr
HireCall is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a day shift opportunity with a top manufacturing client. This role is responsible for analyzing customer specifications, developing strip layouts, and building, assembling, and maintaining precision tooling used in production operations.
Position Overview
The Tool & Die Maker will set up and operate machine tools and fabricate high-precision components such as metalworking dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauging systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and improve tooling performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze engineering blueprints, tool orders, and customer specifications
Develop strip layouts, sketches, and detailed drawings
Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and drill presses
Machine, fit, and assemble precision tooling and verify conformance to specifications
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth mics, indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, profilometers, and functional gauges
Utilize CMMs and optical comparators for inspection and verification
Troubleshoot dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures; recommend design improvements
Interpret wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics; install electrical and hydraulic components as needed
Maintain accurate tooling documentation and records
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times

Qualifications
Experience operating and setting up machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)
Strong blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude
Skilled in precision measurement and inspection tools
Ability to build, assemble, and troubleshoot progressive tooling
Knowledge of CMMs and optical comparators required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
