Salary Range: $63,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build new tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Repair and maintain existing tooling to ensure production efficiency.
  • Operate a variety of machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.
  • Interpret blueprints, scheCAD models, and technical drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues during manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Recommended Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent experience (4+ years)
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and various tool steels
  • Skilled in operating precision machinery (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM)
  • Ability to use and interpret a wide range of measuring tools and gauges
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) for design and programming
  • Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery (e.g., mills, lathes, EDM)
  • Knowledge of various metal fabrication techniques beyond traditional machining (e.g., welding, heat treating)
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools and methodologies (e.g., CMM, GD&T)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and schematics, including 3D models
