Salary Range: $64,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and construct intricate tooling, dies, and fixtures.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Operate a variety of precision machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.
  • Perform meticulous inspection of finished tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing tooling to optimize production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new manufacturing processes.
  • Select and apply appropriate materials and heat treatments for tool longevity.
Recommended Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a certified apprenticeship program or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties
  • Expertise in operating manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM equipment
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) with high accuracy
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for design and programming
  • Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery (e.g., CNC mills, lathes, EDM)
  • Familiarity with metrology tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, optical comparators) for quality inspection
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on tooling and machinery
  • Knowledge of various material properties and their impact on tooling design and performance
