The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Tool Designerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
The key responsibilities of this Tool Designerinclude, but are not limited to:
- Prepare tool, gage, and process enhancement designs using Pro/ENGINEER software
- Perform calculations to determine exact dimensions, correlating specifications and engineering data
- Ability to make drawings for both production and vendors
- Interface with continuous improvement, engineering, process engineering, and manufacturing daily
- Interface with vendors for procurement of purchased items

- 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
- 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY
Salary: $50,000 - $75,000
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Tool Designerat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
- Associate's in mechanical engineer or related field/experience
- Experience in a machine shop, tool-design/application position, or related area preferred
- Experience with project management preferred
- Working knowledge of Pro/ENGINEER software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple requests and projects concurrently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Working with and on the manufacturing floor frequently
- Some travel to tooling vendors or Nogales possible (minimal, 10%)
