Synigent is seeing an experienced Tool & Die Maker for one of our clients to support manufacturing operations in South Chesterfield, VA. This role will design, build, modify, and repair tooling and dies while also supporting engineering prototypes and maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
Build, repair, and modify tooling and progressive dies
Set up and operate conventional and CNC machining equipment, including lathes, mills, jig bores, and surface grinders
Work from blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
Fabricate prototype and equipment repair parts
Perform precision measuring, welding, machining, and heat treatment
Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and equipment repairs as needed
Qualifications
5+ years of Tool & Die / machine shop experience
Progressive die experience required
Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills
Experience with Mastercam, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, geometry, and trigonometry
Machinist certificate or equivalent technical training preferred
High school diploma/GED required
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
