Tool Room Attendant

We perform installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.

Southern Industrial Constructors INC. is seeking a Tool Room Attendant to work at a jobsite located in De Soto, KS. 

Perform daily tool room duties.  Work usually requires the ability to work without close supervision.

• Responsible for locating, receiving, stocking and issuing tools.
• Maintains the tool room in a neat and orderly manner.
• Delivers packages to recipients daily.
• Assists in cleaning of the shop or elsewhere as needed.
• Operates forklift(s) or drives company vehicles as needed to complete daily tasks.
• Assists co-workers with tooling needs and answers questions regarding inventory.
• Checks all tools for any defects before the items are sent to the job site.
• Returns tooling to assigned tool room locations once items are returned to the shop.
• Maintains the lawn around the office.
• Assists tool room supervisor with day to day duties of the tool room.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.  Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.  Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, and working in awkward body positions.
