Job Description:

We are seeking a Tool Install Ramp Manager to work full-time on-site with our client located near Santa Clara, California.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead owner-side coordination of semiconductor tool installation and ramp activities across multiple fab areas, aligning plans with production goals and operational priorities.
  • Develop and manage integrated installation, startup, sequencing, and handover plans with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Support factory expansion, capacity ramp, technology transfer, and production startup initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain equipment Basis of Design (BOD) documentation for assigned toolsets and programs.

  • Collaborate with Equipment, Facilities, Manufacturing, and OEMs to define utilities, layouts, and facility interfaces, ensuring alignment with infrastructure capabilities.

  • Support design and constructability reviews from an owner/operator perspective.

  • Coordinate with equipment vendors and OEM suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Integrate purchase orders into execution planning and track key deliverables (manuals, drawings, specs, startup procedures, training, spares).

  • Ensure documentation completeness and coordinate schedules, FAT, delivery, startup support, and field service.

  • Serve as the integration lead across engineering, manufacturing, construction, EHS, supply chain, operations, and vendors.

  • Facilitate coordination meetings, resolve technical issues, and address scope gaps, interface conflicts, and installation readiness challenges.

  • Oversee tool delivery, logistics, move-in, hookup readiness, and OEM startup activities.

  • Monitor installation progress, escalate risks, and support qualification, cleanroom integration, and production readiness.

  • Lead equipment turnover and handover activities, ensuring completion of sign-offs, punch lists, as-builts, maintenance documentation, training, and spare parts.

  • Coordinate final acceptance between vendors, engineering teams, and manufacturing operations.

  • Support manufacturing ramp and operational readiness by coordinating startup sequencing and minimizing production disruption.

  • Identify and mitigate risks to production ramp, startup schedules, and transition into sustained operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment integration, facilities engineering, or tool installation program management.
  • Experience working in owner/operator roles within semiconductor fabrication environments.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment installation and factory integration processes.
  • Experience coordinating directly with semiconductor OEM vendors and internal engineering organizations.
  • Strong technical documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cross-functional coordination activities in fast-paced fab environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor fab startup or major capacity expansion programs.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor facility systems and cleanroom infrastructure.
  • Experience with equipment-based design development, tool utility coordination, factory integration planning, turnover and handover management, equipment qualification support, and manufacturing ramp coordination.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment lifecycle management processes.
