Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform drill press operations including drilling, tapping, and chamfering.
  • Deburr and straighten metal plates up to 24" x 24".
  • Operate manual machining equipment such as Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, and tool grinders.
  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
  • Utilize hand tools and machine shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for inspection and verification.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Perform and document in-process quality inspections.
  • Assemble molds and tooling components.
  • Conduct mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain extremely tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds as required.
  • Stand and work for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the tool room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
  • Associate degree from a Technical College or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience working in a machine shop or tooling environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment.
  • Knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience with CNC machining operations.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam software.
  • Mold assembly, maintenance, and repair experience.
  • Experience working with high-precision tooling and tight tolerances.
