We have a national presence but a local approach—every customer benefits from our capabilities and our care.Job SummaryThe Tool and Material Handler is responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance, and tracking of company-owned tools and light equipment. This role supports safe, efficient operations by ensuring tools are properly maintained, documented, and ready for field use while coordinating repairs, inventory, and mobilization between projects.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, repair, and test hand tools, power tools, and light equipment to ensure safe and reliable operationPerform routine maintenance, preventative servicing, and minor fabrication or adjustmentsConduct in-house repairs on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical toolsIdentify damaged or unsafe tools and remove them from service until repaired or replacedMaintain accurate repair logs, service records, and tool condition documentationTrack company-owned tools, equipment, and rentals, including repair costs per toolFlag tools with excessive repair cycles and provide replacement recommendationsCoordinate basic inspections when tools are returned from or deployed to job sitesAssist with tool and equipment mobilization between projectsSupport inventory counts, audits, and organization of the tool room or repair areaCommunicate repair needs, parts requirements, and equipment status to supervisionFollow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and manufacturer repair guidelinesOther duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.Minimum Qualifications1–3 years of experience repairing tools or equipment (construction, industrial, or mechanical environment preferred)Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with construction tools including cordless, corded, pneumatic, and gas-powered equipmentAbility to safely use hand tools, diagnostic tools, and repair equipmentBasic computer skills for repair tracking and inventory documentationStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to lift and carry tools and equipment up to 50 lbs (with assistance as needed)Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
