Help troubleshoot problems using analytical methods to ensure standards and specifications are met. Duties/Responsibilities: Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and nonmetallic parts. Operates tool room mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM machines and miscellaneous equipment to produce and repair complex tooling and dies. Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, sketches, drawing manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements. Ability to program CNC machines. Understanding to inspect and sharpen cutting tools used in the plant. Ability to inspect work to assure all specifications are met. Ability to give operating instructions. Ability to train, instruct and assist trainees through the training period. Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to set ups and operations within recognized procedures. Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance. Ability to keep their work area clean and follow 5S standards. Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT) Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner. Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S projects. Education and Experience: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associates degree or working towards a degree Experience with CNC machines and programming Physical Requirements: Physical hazards due to lifting of product assemblies and tools Fumes, dust, oils, Extended periods of standing Ability to lift to 45 pounds Parker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
