Job Description:
- The Tool Room Machinist is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify tooling, fixtures, dies, gauges, and precision components.
- This position supports production by ensuring tooling accuracy, quality, and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities:- Set up CNC mills and/or lathes (prove out programs, set offsets, adjust tooling)
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Manufacture and repair fixtures, dies, jigs, and special tooling
- Hold tight tolerances ( .0005 " or as required)
Requirements: - Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Proficient in manual machining (critical in tool room environment)
- Knowledge of tool steels, heat treating, and surface finishes
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment
Experience: - 3-7+ years experience in tool room or precision machining environment
- Experience with tight tolerance machining
