Job Purpose This position focuses on design and engineering of custom tooling for the fabrication of composite structures using manufacturing processes which include autoclave cured prepreg, resin transfer molding, compression molding, and other liquid molding techniques. This job requires an individual with an understanding of mechanical design, composite structures, resin transfer molding (RTM), and surfacing techniques as well as some familiarity with material science, thermodynamics, and ergonomics.Job Responsibilities Design complex tooling systems for high performance composite systemsSelect and specify the materials best suited for tool applicationsWork with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Technicians to implement new designs, resolve manufacturing problems and support the manufacturing processCreate SOW's for all tooling related activities with direction from ES-T. This requires the ability to create complete, detailed and uniform documentation for tooling vendors with information interpreted from tooling concepts, existing SOW's and engineering input.Participate in design reviews to provide data input, calculations, conclusions and ideas.Compile information from both internal and external sources for presentation in reviews, input to designs and developing conclusions.Hands on resource available for tooling activities such as inspection, receiving, issue coordination.Create purchase requisitions in SAP and track tooling components using SAP.Intelligent interfacing with tooling vendors and material suppliers at the direction of the ES-T.Communicate data results into engineering concepts/designs.Interface with CAD designer to implement and validate data/analysis results.Nothing in this document restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Supervisory Responsibility NoExperience/Education/Skills BS in designated Engineering or related field.0-3 years of experience Design/Analysis/Procurement/Inspection/Maintenance/Repair of Aerospace Tooling used in manufacturing composite aerospace components and assemblies.0-3 years of experience with SolidWorks and CATIA V5Preferred Additional Skills Able to collaborate effectively with Program Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Tooling & Equipment Manufacturers, Quality Engineering, and Project Engineers to convert customer requirements into tools that meet technical requirements, cost requirements, and schedule requirements.Disciplined, organized, and detail oriented, with good time management.GD&T, Configuration Management, and technical writing.Additional Information As a Department of Defense Contractor, we are required to hire US Persons.Visa sponsorship is not being offered.Shift DayTravel NegligibleLocation 5995 West Amelia Earhart Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84416, United States#J-18808-Ljbffr
