As a Tool and Die Machinist, you will perform precision machining for tooling and spare parts by interpreting complex blueprints, operating manual and CNC machining equipment, and supporting tooling maintenance operations. This role also supports special projects while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

Shift Information

  • Rotating Day or Night Shift ( 12hr 2-2-3 rotation). Availability to work is a plus.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, drill press, and surface grinder
  • Experience reading complex blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections using calipers and micrometers
  • Welding experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding
  • Ability to operate CNC equipment

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Technical training
  • Experience creating CNC programs

Position Requirements

  • Good mechanical skills with the ability to disassemble and reassemble mechanical equipment
  • Perform precision machining from complex blueprints
  • Operate manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, EDM, drill press, and surface grinder
  • Operate CNC equipment
  • Create CNC programs
  • Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, depth micrometers, and bore gauges
  • Make machining setups and evaluate work requirements efficiently
  • Use hand-finishing tools proficiently
  • Sharpen and shape cutting tools
  • Maintain tooling for machining equipment
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness within the machining area
  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations
  • Attend departmental meetings
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Work overtime, including weekends, when required
  • Stand and walk for extended periods indoors and outdoors
  • Bend, stoop, and climb stairs throughout the shift
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Main Responsibilities

  • Machine tooling and spare parts using engineering blueprints.
  • Perform machining operations using mills, lathes, EDM, drill press, and surface grinders.
  • Operate CNC machining equipment.
  • Create CNC machining programs.
  • Interpret complex blueprints and perform machining operations accordingly.
  • Measure parts accurately using precision measuring instruments.
  • Evaluate machining requirements and complete efficient machine setups.
  • Use hand-finishing tools to complete tooling components.
  • Sharpen and shape cutting tools.
  • Maintain tooling used for machining equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the machining area.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers and micrometers.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work overtime, including weekends, as required.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Tooling Supervisor or management.
