Tool & Die Maker / Toolmaker

$28+/hr | 1st & 2nd Shift | Plastic Manufacturer

Position Summary

A leading plastics manufacturing facility in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / Toolmaker to fabricate, maintain, and repair precision tooling, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures that support production operations. This role works from blueprints, CAD files, and engineering specifications to ensure tooling meets tight tolerances and quality standards.

Shift & Pay

  • Pay: $28+/hr (based on experience)
  • Shifts Available:- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Tooling Fabrication & Repair

  • Build, repair, and modify dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures from engineering drawings
  • Operate precision machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM equipment
  • Inspect finished tooling to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance on existing tooling to extend life and performance
  • Document repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities

Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to troubleshoot tooling issues
  • Provide input on design improvements and manufacturability

Quality & Safety

  • Follow all safety policies and manufacturing procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S standards
  • Ensure all tooling meets quality expectations and production requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
  • 3+ years of tool and die or mold-making experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents
  • Experience with manual and CNC machine tools
  • Strong understanding of materials, machining processes, and heat treatment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements
