Own the craft. Elevate the line.

Imagine this: it’s 6:30 AM in Trevose, PA. You review a new print, map the sequence, rough cut on the mill, finish on the grinder, and by early afternoon you’re validating a progressive die that will hit production tomorrow. If that rhythm sounds right, you’ll thrive as our Toolroom Machinist building and repairing high-precision dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

The challenge

  • Convert sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models into actionable build plans that maximize safety and efficiency.
  • Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders; machine parts and confirm they meet spec.
  • Assemble, repair, and upgrade dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges using both hand and machine tools.
  • Design work-aid templates and jigs to speed fabrication.
  • Diagnose tooling issues; perform corrective repairs and operate dies/progressive dies during testing.
  • Verify all dimensions using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, micrometers, and similar precision tools.
  • Assess existing tooling and recommend construction/function improvements.
  • Turn general descriptions into specifications; sketch tool concepts to communicate designs.
  • Uphold 6S—keep the area clean, organized, and inspection-ready; take on other related tasks as needed.

On-site schedule

Based in our Trevose, PA facility. Regular hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM EDT.

What it takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant experience; Associate degree or vocational Tool & Die certification preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of machines and tools—their design, use, maintenance, and repair—plus sound tooling/design techniques.
  • Ability to read prints with dimensions/tolerances; proficient with micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and related metrology.
  • Competence in basic mathematics and trigonometry.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.

Physical demands

Expect periods of standing, walking, or sitting; frequent hand use to handle/feel parts and tools; reaching; stair climbing; and balancing. At times you’ll stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must be able to talk/hear and, when needed, taste/smell. You can occasionally lift or move up to 35 lbs. Required vision includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
